This method is the most common way of checking your data balance on the MTN network. You can simply dial *131*4# to check your MTN data balance for the network’s regular data balance. Dialing this code is the most common way MTN users check their data balance.

The SMS method also works well in checking your data balance. You just have to open your message app and text ‘2’ to ‘131’. You will receive a notification that shows your data balance. This text message is also utterly free at all times for users.
